One sentence or one paragraph
The first is the sentence, for a listing or a one-line mention. The second is the paragraph, the longer version of who we are, and it runs without an edit.
Scale Equity Ventures is a Baltimore holding company, started in 2023, that builds, runs, funds and invests in service businesses and helps other owners grow theirs.
Scale Equity Ventures is a Baltimore holding company. We build service businesses and run them ourselves, with our own money. We also invest in owners and help other owners grow what they already run. We started in 2023 with one mobile detailing shop, Obsidian Detail Studios, which our founder ran alone. The software we built to run it became OmniScale. Then other detailers asked how the shop booked so much work, and Scale Detailing grew out of the answer: ads, websites, follow-up, sales reps and attribution, placed behind detail shops in other markets. Scale Command, our partner app, came out of that work. Each new company is funded by the ones already running; we take no outside capital. We keep every company we start for as long as it works. Obsidian Products and Onyx Window Cleaning are in build now. Owners work with us two ways: we put our systems behind their shops, or we buy into or partner on the businesses they run.
What to print
Two spellings to watch: OmniScale is one word with a capital S, and Scale Command is two words. Our own name is written out in full every time.

JC Acosta
Founder · owner and operatorJC Acosta opened Obsidian Detail Studios in Baltimore in 2023 and ran it alone that first year, from the wash bay to the invoices. The software he built to run the shop became OmniScale. Scale Detailing grew out of the questions other detailers asked him about how it booked so much work. He owns Scale Equity Ventures outright, with no investor behind it, and runs it day to day.
